Explore the Best of Begur, Spain

Scenic Hikes, Delicious Dining, and Friendly Stays on the costa brava

Nestled on a hill just north of Barcelona along the stunning Costa Brava, Begur is a charming Spanish town I love returning to. This quaint destination, with its narrow streets and historic charm, offers the perfect blend of tranquility and beauty. One of the main reasons I keep coming back to Begur is the fun and friendly hotel and dining experiences (more on that below!)

Located just a short drive from the coast, Begur also provides easy access to stunning beaches, secluded coves, and scenic hiking trails. While the beaches are a major draw in the summer, I can attest to Begur's allure in the spring, fall, and even winter—perfect for those who prefer a peaceful retreat without the focus on water activities.

Please enjoy this simple guide to Begur, as we uncover the coastal charm of Costa Brava.

Begur Film Festival

On our first road trip through Costa Brava, we happened to visit Begur during the Begur Film Festival—a delightful surprise! Focused on comedy, this festival features thousands of international entries. The highlight for me was the red carpet running down the cobblestone streets and the DJ in the main square, spinning music to accompany film montages. The festival typically takes place in early October, so it's worth planning your visit around this time if you’re in the area.

J'adore Begur

I bet you will too.
