Sardinia surprised me with its unfussy, raw beauty. We spent a long Easter weekend road-tripping around the north, from Alghero to the Maddalena Archipelago, through colorful Bosa, and along the island’s stunning coastline. With its mix of rugged landscapes, charming towns, and simple yet incredible food, Sardinia left a lasting impression.
Not that you need a good excuse to visit one of the most iconic and historically significant cities in the world that also happens to be in a country with amazing food, but we had one: The Rome Marathon. The race was epic and so is the eternal city. I’m sharing restaurant recommendations I gleaned from locals, a very chic and reasonable boutique hotel, and ideas on what to see and do on your Roman holiday!
Florence is of course an iconic and charming destination year round, but the city at Christmas exceeded my expectations. The twinkle lights, Christmas menus, and video mapping displays was the perfect recipe for a truly magical Christmas weekend in Italy.
