If you are looking for Mallorca travel blogs that provide: ideas for things to do in Sóller Mallorca, Deià Mallorca restaurants, or hotels in Palma with a pool, than this guide is for you!

I break down our day-by-day Mallorca Itinerary below. Since we were traveling in the peak summer season, we chose to steer clear of the popular beaches south east of Palma (though they do seem stunning) as the island is a popular destination for many Europeans.

For this Tuesday to Saturday trip we spent two nights on the northwest coast of the island in Sóller and two nights in Palma, making stops in Valldemossa and Deià in between.

The areas we visited are certainly no secret either, though we never felt overwhelmed (except when we arrived in Deià at lunch time— finding a parking spot felt like a miracle because space is limited!) We found the small towns utterly charming and the capital city a great place to get lost.

Mallorca At-A-Glance

DAY 1: Valldemossa & Sóller, Meem Townhouse

DAY 2: Sóller & Port de Sóller

DAY 3: Deià & Palma, Hotel Cappuccino

DAY 4: Palma

DAY ONE: Valldemossa & Sóller

After we landed in Palma and got our rental car, our first stop was the picturesque hilltop village of Valldemossa.

We went straight to Es Taller Restaurant for lunch and it was delicious (see colorful ceviche photo below!) After the meal, we wandered around the charming streets, popping in and out of shops and taking in spectacular views of the surrounding scenery.

We also stopped by Chopin’s home and gardens.

We continued on to Sóller to check in to Meem Townhouse. Minimal, clean design and full of natural night, this boutique hotel offered a lovely tranquil stay. Furthermore the staff couldn’t be friendlier and the breakfast was fresh and tasty.

After a small siesta, we set off to explore the town. We found a great spot in the main plaza to order tapas and people watch. It’s quite a picturesque scene with the tram running up the hill and past the magnificent Church of Sant Bartomeu.

DAY TWO: Sóller & Port de Sóller

After a lovely breakfast at Meem Townhouse, we set out for Ecovinyassa Citrus Farm. It’s about a 15-20 minute scenic walk from where we stayed in town.

The island's mild Mediterranean climate and fertile soil make it an ideal place for growing oranges and lemons. The Sóller Valley, in particular, is famous for its orange groves.

The Citrus Farm visit includes a 2-hours self-guided walk through the grounds followed by a snack and fresh orange juice. We made a reservation in advance on the website (tickets are 18 Euros for adults, 10 euros for kids).

I thought it was a really peaceful experience. Chickens and peacocks waddled through one section. In another area baskets of fresh oranges were left out for us to taste. And though it was a hot summer day, the trees provided plenty of shady spots to enjoy.

After our citrus excursion, we walked back to town, gathered our swimsuits and backpack and trekked down to the Port de Sóller. It’s about a 45-minute walk. The aforementioned tram is also an option for getting to the port from the city. I definitely recommend taking it at least one of way!

Cafes, restaurants and ice cream parlors lined the boardwalk. There were two small stretches of beach along the port as well. We ping ponged from sidewalk cafe to the beach and back again to the boardwalk for another refreshment.

After our afternoon aperitif, we hopped on the tram back to town. It was a beautiful, breezy way to take in the scenery at sunset.

DAY THREE: Deià & Palma

Jessica from Meem Townhouse tipped us off to a cool new hotel nearby, Hotel Corazon. We stopped by to take a peek and let me tell you: It’s a vibe. I loved taking in the eclectic, hip interiors and art. We enjoyed a refreshment on their stunning terrace before setting off again.

We continued on toward Deià. When planning for the trip, it seemed every site mentioned this “magical” little town and it’s cala (cove).

We decided to skip the cove after hearing it was a bit of a traffic nightmare this time of year, but the town was definitely worth it. Since it’s not that big, parking is limited so plan accordingly!

Deià: Charming mountaintop village overlooking the Mediterranean in Mallorca, Spain

There are many cute cafes and shops. When seeking recommendations for Deia Mallorca restaurants, we found De Monio, a small vegan/veggie cafe on the corner. We enjoyed the perfect summer lunch of gazpacho, coca bread, and an orzo salad.

Deià is also home to the famed Belmond Residencia Hotel. Plan to at least stop by to take a look at their collection of Miró Paintings. The terrace views are pretty epic too and would be a great spot for a coffee or cocktail.

Our next and final stop was the capital city of Palma de Mallorca.

We checked into the centrally located and tastefully decorated Hotel Cappuccino. If you are are looking for hotels in palma with pool, this is an excellent option.

In addition to the rooftop pool and terrace, it has open air courtyard and a snazzy downstairs bar. We really enjoyed our experience here from the moment we arrived and sipped our complimentary cocktails from the bistro tables in the square.

DAY FOUR: PALMA

Whenever Rich goes for a morning run, I always enjoy taking my camera out to capture scenes of the city in the morning light.

I loved being around the epic 13th century cathedral on the water, La Seu, before the crowds and wandering the quiet cobblestoned old town.

The cathedral is generally open Monday-Saturday 10:00-3:15 and requires a ticket, which you can buy on site or in advance on the website.

During the day we explored the Santa Caterina neighborhood.

We spent the afternoon relaxing by aforementioned Hotel Cappuccino’s rooftop pool.

We got ready to head out for one last dinner but instead stayed posted up at the downstairs bar and restaurant to enjoy an incredibly talented musical duo who performed jazzy covers.

Even if you aren’t staying at the hotel I would recommend stopping by, especially on a Friday or Saturday night when there might be live music!

It was the perfect end to our summer getaway.
